The 2016 KWPN Stallion Show Powered by Massey Ferguson in ‘s-Hertogenbosch kicks off the first weekend in February. This event is a unique synthesis of world-class sport- and breed competitions in a single venue. Don’t miss it!
Two stallions were presented in the third round viewing for Gelder horses, and both were selected for the performance test. According to Reijer van Woudenbergh, Chairman of the Stallion Selection Committee for Gelder horses: “Henkie has abundant nobility and presence, with sufficiently good Gelder type. He has solid legs and moves with excellent technique in the front leg and a strong hind leg.” Henkie is an Alexandro P son out of the provisional keur mare Beaujamanda by Upperville. He was bred by the Hekkert family in Wijhe.
The three-year-old harness horse stallions turned the Brabanthallen upside down. Among them, six were selected for the performance test in Ermelo.

As always, time was reserved at the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson to honor stallions which have earned a predicate for excellence in breeding. This year, Painted Black and OO Seven were awarded the keur predicate.
The Gelder stallion Floris was among the entries in the Stallion Competition. Under Sophie ter Brugge, he performed a respectable L-level test. This Negro son out of the provisional keur mare Zamyra (s.Elegant) was bred by his rider Sophie and Berend van der Veen of Burdaard.
The KWPN offers two guided tours per year: one in February following the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and another in August after the KWPN Horse Days event in Ermelo. Featuring visits to breeding facilities, foal- and stud farms, training centers, and sales barns, the tours offer our foreign guests a unique Dutch equestrian experience.
After Henkie had performed in the third round viewing, his sire Alexandro P entered the ring under his new rider, José Veltman. The Gelder stallion, who now boasts numerous offspring with national titles, showed off his natural bravado and desire to work.
Top Olympic rider Adelinde Cornelissen gave a dressage clinic this evening at the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson. Instead of her usual partner Parzival, she entered the ring on the KWPN-approved stallion Aqiedo.
In the run up to the 2014 World Equestrian Games, the Dutch dressage team was faced with major setbacks. Nonetheless, they still took home a team medal, despite the withdrawal of the top horses Glock’s Undercover and Kingsley Siro. With three relatively inexperienced KWPN-approved stallions and the very fit veteran competitor Jerich Parzival (Jazz out of Fidora ster pref prest s.Ulft, breeder: J.M. Beijer-de Kleijn of Puiflijk) - who also won the individual bronze - the Dutch team brilliantly won the bronze.
