The KWPN offers two guided tours per year: one in February following the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and another in August after the KWPN Horse Days event in Ermelo. Featuring visits to breeding facilities, foal- and stud farms, training centers, and sales barns, the tours offer our foreign guests a unique Dutch equestrian experience.
A good day for the Gelder horse breeding! All four stallions that were presented in the second round viewing this morning, were invited to the third round viewing! Three stallions were selected for the championships finals, but none could beat the champion: Independent Little Me.
Six stallions entered the arena for the concluding show of the dressage night: the battle for the VHO Trophy. But what a delight to see five stallions at a Small Tour level and the winner Broere Westpoint with his Big Tour Freestyle.
August, 2015: The Dutch were glued to the television and watched the nation’s best riders win gold at the European Championships in Aachen. Also this year the Stallion Selection Committee Dressage was able to recommend several stallions for the keur predicate. Already in the first legs of the Isah Stallion Competition L-Classes, comprised of a large group of stallions that were born in 2011, a clear top was visible. The final battle for the title was would surely be settled by a Totilas son, either Glock’s Toto Jr ridden by Mariek van der Putten or Governor presented by Adelinde Cornelissen. However, Glock’s Toto Jr had such a strong lead going into the final that Governor had no chance of surpassing him.
The only stallion that competed in all of the competition rounds of the Z/ZZ-L class, is the Ampère-son with Annemarie Brouwer. The competition title could therefore not escape the bay stallion. Out of a group of 42 dressage stallions presented in the second round viewing at the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson today, 26 stallions were, via the third round viewing, invited for the KWPN Performance test. Amongst them five sons of Apache.
